A heavy carbon steel forging project was completed for a metallurgy facility in Lanzhou, Gansu. The client, a large-scale industrial plant, required high-strength forged components for their smelting equipment. Jianing Forging was selected to manufacture these critical parts.

The client faced several difficulties: the raw carbon steel material had inconsistent grain structure, leading to unpredictable performance under high temperature and pressure. Existing suppliers could not achieve the required dimensional accuracy for large-diameter forgings, resulting in assembly failures and downtime. Additionally, the delivery timeline was tight due to an upcoming production shutdown.

Jianing Forging implemented a controlled heating and multi-step forging process to homogenize the carbon steel microstructure, ensuring uniform mechanical properties. Custom die design allowed for near-net shape forging, reducing machining time and material waste. The forged components were heat-treated in-house to achieve specified hardness without cracking. Quality control included ultrasonic testing and dimensional verification on each piece. The entire order was delivered ahead of schedule, with zero defects reported during installation.
